How can I plan my wedding in Florence and still feel a sense of intimacy at my ceremony?

AUTHOR: Jessa

Weddings in the ornate Palazzo Vecchio, smack dab in the middle of this Renaissance city’s bustling center, are not for everyone.

Nor does it appeal to all couples to be married in a cavernous Catholic church, or at a huge Medieval castle outside the city limits.  Perhaps the idea of braving nosy tourists or ushering your guests through crowded city streets isn’t your idea of a perfect wedding day, but you’ve fallen in love with Florence and are dreaming of a more intimate way to enjoy the city on your special day.

If this sounds like you, search no more! Wedding With a View is happy to offer its guests a unique and refreshingly understated way to exchange vows against a distinctly Florentine backdrop.  For small groups, this little terrace located atop one of the city’s loveliest boutique hotels is the perfect private ceremony location.  While the space is located far above street-level chaos and confusion, it also happens to be right in the middle of some of Florence’s most famous landmarks, most notably the lazy Arno river, the Ponte Vecchio and the Palazzo Vecchio’s majestic clock tower. Guests will be delighted with their private view—standing on the terrace, it seems as though one could merely reach out and touch these most treasured Renaissance gems.

In addition, groups of up to 30 people won’t have to journey out for refreshments before or after the ceremony. The hotel’s restaurant offers light fare, and couples can opt to do something casual, with finger-food and canapes, or a seated, more formal dinner can be arranged.  Prices, both for the use of the space, and for food & drink, are actually quite reasonable relative to most other venues of this sort.

If you’re looking to be married in the heart of it all, but you’d prefer to avoid the stresses of the city, write to ask us for more information about this unique terrace.
