But Italy is always sunny…why make a backup plan?!

AUTHOR: Jessa

Although Italy is well known for its sunshine, there’s no guarantee that rain won’t come knocking at the door on your wedding day.  Never trust the weather.

I know this possibility is something even the bravest bride doesn’t even want to think about, much less plan for, but I always tell my couples that we need to make a great backup plan and never use it.

The villa or other venue you’ve chosen may offer some charming indoor spaces.  If this is the case, you’re set…you and your planner can decide to relocate the festivities even right before they begin.

Even though your wedding planning may be the best in town, asking her to guarantee a beautiful day is too much.  For example, last year’s weather was just unsettled…on any given day it might rain for an hour, then the sun would come out, and then the rain would move back in.  What a mess!  One Saturday we organized a wedding, and the weather forecast was perfect…then, without warning, it began to pour just before the ceremony. It was a race against time to get all the guests inside and set up the backup plan…but in the end, the wedding turned out just great.  I was sore for days from all the running and hauling, but it was absolutely worth the effort to have another happy bride.

And anyway, as the Italian saying goes, Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata…a wet bride is a lucky bride!
