Many of our collaborating hotels and villas have discounted rates starting in late September or October, which can be a great way to cut costs and still enjoy the best that Italy has to offer.  And of course, as accommodation rates go down, so does the number of tourists crowding into the country’s most popular destinations.

In addition, fall is one of Italy’s most beautiful seasons…we especially love autumn in Tuscany.  The Chianti’s rolling hills turn from green to gold, and visitors at this time can enjoy seasonal culinary treats such as vino novello (a barely fermented, just-pressed wine only available right after the harvest) and olio nuovo (the first olive oil of the year, sold only for a few weeks of the year, it is a vibrant green color, with a sharp flavor and creamy texture). And while the weather is slightly more unpredictable from late September to early November, sunny days are the perfect temperature for outdoor festivities…unlike the summer months, when guests are likely to melt under the midday sun.
